The original name of the Havana San Cristóbal brand was the name of the city of Havana in 1519. The brand was launched in 1999 to pay tribute to the city's long history on the occasion of the new millennium.
For the first time, the brand launches on the market four vitolas, whose names correspond to the fortresses located in the city, built by the Spaniards between the 16th and 18th centuries to protect the city from possible invasions: El Morro, La Fuerza , La Punta and El Príncipe.
The corresponding factory sizes of El Morro and La Fuerza exist only in this brand.
In 2004, the brand's ranking was expanded to include Mercaderes, Oficios and Murallas, the names of famous streets in the historical center of Havana.

All of the brand's Havana cigars are made from "Totalmente a Mano con Tripa Larga" - entirely handmade with Long Filler, with wrappers and filler leaves sourced from the Vuelta Abajo region. They feature a blend of light to medium flavors.
